Dear families and caregivers:

We hope you have enjoyed extended (snowy) time with your family this weekend! Please note that weather conditions will continue to be blustery with lots of blowing snow for the next few days. We will be monitoring outdoor conditions and will be keeping children indoors for breaks if the wind or conditions are unsafe. As always, if you choose to keep your child home (weather related or otherwise) please be sure to call or email to report your child’s absence. (519 578 8450 and press 1  OR  jfc-attendance@wrdsb.ca).

Please note that our beloved Principal, Mrs. Pullen, will be off for a couple of months on a planned medical leave. During her absence, we are so lucky to have Ms. Demsey be the Acting Principal and we will welcome retired administrators to fill the role of Vice Principal. We will update our community once we have more information on who will be our Vice Principal during this time.

This week at JFC we will continue to celebrate Black Brilliance and all of the important contributions Black Canadians have made to society both here in Canada and around the world!

Warmly,

Mrs. Pullen and Ms. Demsey

Safe driving and pick up (**PLEASE READ**)

Please note that you MAY NOT park in the vicinity directly in front of the school. With the snow banks and narrow street already impeding traffic flow, parking your car denies our buses the ability to come and go both before and after school.

Further, our school will not tolerate inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour from parents and caregivers directed toward our staff members. Please know that student safety is of utmost importance and will always come before convenience for parking. We understand the frustrations that come with the lack of parking and wish we had an easier solution. We do not like to see our families receiving tickets for illegally parking but this is the unfortunate reality of the streets surrounding our school and hospital. Please think of our children first and help us to maintain a safe environment for all. We truly appreciate the cooperation from most of our community with this matter.
