Cougar Chronicles – Principals’ Report  

 

Dear families and guardians, 

We hope you have enjoyed a lovely weekend! This week our students and staff participated in our final Fall fire drill. We have been working on exiting the school quickly and quietly. 

A few reminders:

Monday, October 28th (tomorrow) is Picture Day. No money will be collected tomorrow; instead, children will receive their proofs at a later date and photos will be ordered online based on family preferences. 

Friday, November 1st is a PD Day. Please note that Extended Day and YDP programs will not be open on this day.

Halloween – On Thursday, October 31st, any and all students wishing to wear a costume or black and orange to school are welcome to do so. Please follow the simple guidelines below:

– Costumes should not impact a child’s (or other students’) ability to learn or participate in school activities

– Children should not be wearing Halloween masks

– Ensure that costumes are not discriminatory, representative of other cultures or religious beliefs, or violate the health and safety of other students

– No props or accessories (costumes should be limited to what you can wear on your body)

Those that wish to wear orange or black or their brightest colours is also an option for this day. 

Pizza (from last week)- Pizza ordering for the month of November is now up and running on School Day. Please use School Day to order and pay for pizza. Please note that pizza ordering will close on Oct. 29th. Our first pizza day for the month of November will be Oct. 31 (Thursday) as November 1st is a PD Day.
