Dear families and caregivers:

We are so excited that our Community Closet event is happening this Wednesday! Please pop by between 3:30-5 in the gym. We have a number of items for free of charge including clothing, books, and sports equipment.

This week our Grade 6s are writing EQAO – we wish them good luck as they demonstrate their learning in Language and Math!

Soccer is now open for students – if you have a child who enjoys soccer, please review the rules listed below to ensure everyone understands the expectations so that we can enjoy a safe and fun soccer experience for all.

Please note that Friday, May 30th is a PA Day and school is closed to students while staff work on assessment and evaluation.

Warmly,

Ms. Demsey and Mrs. Pullen

Soccer Rules – Please take a moment to review the rules with your child

JFC Soccer Rules

Be a Team Player – Always Use Good Sportsmanship!

-Respect everyone; teammates, opponents, and staff (educators)

-No arguing, name-calling, or screaming

-Celebrate goals with kindness –  no teasing or bragging

Play Fair – Use Only Your Feet (and Head or Body)

-Only the goalkeeper can use their hand (if playing with one)

-Everyone else must kick the ball or use their body (like chest or head), not hands or arms

-No pushing, tripping, or kicking other players. Stay safe and respectful

Include Everyone

-Let everyone who wants to play have a turn

-Pass the ball to all teammates, not just friends

-Be patient and encouraging with new or younger players

Time Out from Soccer – Keep Control

-If an educator sees that you’re concerned with the rules or being unsafe, you may be asked to leave the field

-Persistent problems may result in you being on the No-Play list for a while

Let’s make soccer fun for everyone!

Play fair, be kind, and enjoy the game!
